Chromecast ultra and plex (self.chromecast) it will directplay hevc/h.265 mkv's from my plex library, but it does not have dts-hd/truehd support, so my 4k movies play, but it transcodes the audio down to 5.1. i was reading somewhere that google never intended the chromecast to be used for local files. i don't know if that's true or not.
